Dysfunctional corporate structure and weak pipelines

Pros

Base salary is okay, short-term bonus meets industry criteria but long-term incentives almost non-existing (not listed in the US stock market). So far the company is relatively small in size. Despite several major trial failures, most people (non-marketing) are able to stay.

Cons

The company pipelines are so weak. So far there is only 1 product on the market. The pipelines in development/trial are very weak, to say the least. There are competition between Euorpe-based affiliate, US-affiliate and Japan headquarter. A lot of office politics and rapid changing culture and dynamics. Osaka is still controlling everything without really good knowledge on regulatory and market environment in US and Europe.

Cons

Your experience can differ wildly depending on which dept. you're a part of @ Shionogi. My experience wasn't good whatsoever. Be prepared to ask the hard questions about culture and management styles, and willing to walk away if any red flags come up. There are depts. that are toxic and you will pay the price.
