Pros

Medical, dental, vision, ESPP, 401 K, tuition reimbursement, company non-profit volunteering options, unlimited time off, pet insurance, catered lunches on Wednesdays & Fridays, taco Tuesdays, beer Fridays, happy hours, any desired desk gear/supplies, in-office fitness options such as yoga, spin class, and soon-to-be kickboxing. Management actually listens to issues and makes changes. If you do great work and aren't here JUST to get a paycheck, you WILL be rewarded. On top of that, the internal career opportunities are endless so to grow into.

Cons

Maybe instead of in-office fitness classes (so employees aren't getting sweaty during work hours), change it to covered fitness outside of the office but only if you make it X amount of times a week/month. I feel like it would encourage more people to work out and be better overall for health benefits.

Ok place to begin a career in SaaS

Pros

Good benefits (mostly). Typical tech office space for Austin in a good location. Mostly good coworkers that are friendly enough for a workplace environment. If you work hard, you can advance, as ShipStation is growing quickly and they used to make it easy to move up or to other departments to help you grow your career. Management is very understanding of the need for personal time and are accommodating of emergencies. But be prepared if you take PTO that most of your work will not be covered and there when you get back.

Cons

Pay is lower than most Austin tech companies for all departments. There is little to no communication from upper management on where the product is going or big changes that are happening. The communication between departments is terrible and you are frowned upon for asking for information if you are not in those departments. Most coworkers get along professionally, but you can tell there are a lot of cliques in the office and you can see how those people are favored by mid/senior management. HR is nonexistent and the one person in charge of this rarely has answers readily available. Be prepared to wonder and to not know where to go to for answers. Also be prepared to hear sexist remarks from all over.

We hear your concern and we're sorry about your experience. We are striving towards greater transparency across all departments, communicating goals, plans, and results. Sexual harassment isn't something we take lightly and is not tolerated here at ShipStation. We value your feedback, if you have any further insights or concern you can email hr@shipstation.com.
