Pros

Your hard work is noticed and you get to work with great co-workers. I love the fast paced and casual environment.

Cons

Ideas and initiatives move fast around here. Could also be a Pro depending on outlook. Your desk may change several times as the company is growing quickly.

Great feedback! We definitely move quick and as we scale up our operations, and people tend to move around! I have also changed desks a few times in our SF office, and our pending remodel of Birmingham, as well as our move in San Francisco means that we have to do this once again. Every time I move desks, I get to interact with new people, but I think this will slow down a bit with the re-model/relocation of the offices.

Pros

Shipt is an incredible blend of hard work, talent and energy like I've never experienced before. Everyone works hard to achieve a common goal of providing the best experience for our members, shoppers and partners. I believe that stems from a common understanding that the opportunity is HUGE for Shipt. Decisions are driven by data. We try to test everything and use data to achieve the outcome we want. In engineering, there is tremendous autonomy which leads to creative solutions to big problems. We move very fast. A long project is considered more than a week. My peers are talented and there's a constant desire to learn more. Recent hires have really added to the depth of knowledge and experience.

Cons

Shipt demands a lot of my time. It's exactly what I'm looking to give right now, but I understand how that could be a negative for some. Processes aren't rigorously defined. I tend to value the freedom in defining them more than being frustrated by their lacking, but it seems to frustrate some. The growth trajectory Shipt is on leads to growing pains as change is constant. If you aren't comfortable with change, I wouldn't recommend Shipt.

Thanks for the feedback, and being the best part of Shipt! I agree that Shipt can take a lot of my time, and I hope that as we have scaled and added new people to the organization that the time commitment has eased a bit. I believe that our culture of change may be the one thing that will not change, but I believe we have put in more tools and processes to help guide new additions to the team.

Pros

Lots of teamwork with smart, goal-oriented people. Culture really values ownership and accountability, so it's a great place to cut your teeth in a growing company that still has a lot of start-up values.

Cons

Focus on growth and speed sometimes leads to imperfect solutions that need to be re-worked later. That's the case in any start-up or growth company, so it's certainly not a unique issue.
