Pros

Pros: I had fun on shipment days because it went really fast. The employee discount was 20% off non-brand name items and 10% off of brands. It was nice to get first dibs on merchandise when we unpacked it. I also had a friendly manager and staff.

Cons

Cons: The customers were often very rude. The management left me to run the store by myself at least twice a week. i had 12 hour shifts completely alone which is terrible in retail. There is no music playing in the stores and the POS system is terribly outdated.

Decent pay for someone with little to no experience

Too little pay for the experienced, not enough promotion opportunities, Corporate doesn't seem to care for it's employees

Pros

You CAN make a lot of money during busy times, if you have the right crew, they can be like family (which is awesome, because if you plan on being anything but a sales associate, you won't be seeing much of your actual family), and sometimes if you catch their corporate office in a good mood, they can be very helpful product-wise.

Cons

Tons! As just a keyholder, I was carrying out management duties more often than what anyone getting paid as little as I was should be comfortable doing. I was with the company for a year and I was supposed to receive a 25 cent "raise" but was instead essentially tricked into a 20 cent raise. This, and many other things, such as the district manager allowing employees and even non-employees to work "off the clock" to meet styling update goals and to keep the store clean (honestly, the unbelievably messy customers and the very little coverage we were allowed to help pick it all up was a big part of why I left), proved to me that this company isn't about its customers or employees. It is only about making and saving as much money as possible and if it means saving five cents, they will NOT hesitate to walk all over anyone and everyone. My best advice is to just not go in ready to take this place seriously, because you will get taken advantage of.
