Pros

I'll start by reiterating some of the previous review points. Good compensation. Must give one star for that. Management completely transparent about the opportunity. We are shown the same slides as investors. Must give one star for that too. Amazing people. Everybody knows strong teams make high tech companies. At most one star. Exciting work not mentioned. Otherwise it might be less than one star. Sheesh.

Cons

Everyone else must be busy doing exciting work, so I felt compelled to write a review. Not something I enjoy doing.

Thank you for your feedback - we appreciate that writing reviews isn't something we spend any time encouraging anyone to do so we appreciate you taking the time. We think it's pretty great here too :)

Pros

You'll meet some wonderful people working here.

Cons

Leadership lacks transparency! Relevant and important information is often kept secret and consistently on a "need-to-know basis," which makes leadership seem dishonest and insincere. There's a lack of transparency on the company's direction and a growing culture of fear that has been reported multiple times. Basically, the environment is "you're here to do a job; we pay better than most startups, so do your job and don't ask questions." You're a cog in the machine, not a team member. And you'll be constantly bombarded with "investor talk" during all-hands (God they even use the same slides). Sigma used to be a great place to work, but now it's transitioning to a corporate culture without building trust with its employees.

I'm sorry that you feel like we are losing our culture of transparency - we take that very seriously so it saddens me to feel that some members of our team feel like that is not working anymore. You're right that we do talk about the Market and Investor feedback a lot in our company communications - honestly that's all part of the transparency that we strive for (i.e. if we all know how investors and the market perceives us we are all better informed about our choices!) but if you feel like we are missing the mark I would love to hear more. As a current employee please feel free to reach out to the People team so that we can right the ship for you. Looking forward to your feedback

Pros

Free Lunch Some friendly people

Cons

- Sigma is a con. "Spectacular growth" propped up by high customer acquisition costs and cash burn. - Engineering managers can be quite immature. - Very sexist. - Lacks diversity. - User understanding is minimal - A toxicity that manifests itself in a passive-agressive way. - Solutions to all problem, cut everyone. - Unfair reviews based on hearsay. - Extremely poor product group - Eng leadership is very limited, - Leadership not held accountable, if so many people cut, then who made the bad hires? Or is management just bad

I'm sorry we weren't the right place for you - but as we said before we always acknowledge that our company may not be for everyone. To repeat from earlier responses it is absolutely true that we treat our team like adults - that definitely means that we hold a high bar for performance (across the entire team -everyone from interns to Senior Leaders is held to the same performance bar). We are unapologetic that we want not only the best talent but we also want the best talent that is hungry for more - as you will know those people are consistently very successful here. And the proof is in the pudding - having enjoyed consistent (and real!) triple digit growth for the last 4 years those truths will remain true! We will continue to welcome people to Sigma that believe in what we believe in so if that's you we want to hear from you!
