Pros

Fairly decent wages, night shift is a fun team environment to work with.

Cons

Constant drama over nurse assignments and personality conflict. Management shows lots of favoritism.

Pros

I enjoyed being able to see the improvements made from the patients on a day to day basis. Having them be a part of their health care needs.

Cons

Upper management is very clicky. Not many actually do the job they're there to do. Most of the work is placed on a select few. Told that all have the same expectations when it comes to work and what's required when that isn't the case. Upper management plays favorites. Works very under staffed, attitudes from most of the staff. If there was a concern from the DON she would talk to a lateral staff member to speak to me about the concern and never speak directly to me about it. If you were not a part of the click they tried to find ways to get rid of you. Never got a lunch, always left stressed. Not an enjoyable place to work.

Pros

Most of the people who work on the floor from housekeeping to nursing are very caring and try to work as a team.

Cons

Management is terrible. The company cares about money above all else. They talk a lot about changing healthcare but it is all talk. This is the biggest bunch of hypocrites you could ever work for. The insurance benefits are terrible and expensive. If they can save a nickel by implementing new and convoluted rules that make your job near impossible, someone will do it. They micromanage the staff to death- no food or drinks outside the break room, but as a nurse you might work 7 hours before you see your first break so you can get a drink. No cell phones allowed in the building. If you go 15 minutes over your shift you are written up and told to manage your time better, though sometimes you end up working 2 med carts because they don't have enough staff. On nights there will often be one nurse, one cmt and 2 cna's for an entire floor of the building- over 70 patients. The nurse has to work as the nurse and an aide, do all the paperwork for her unit and the Cmt's all night yet still get out at exactly 7:15 am.
