Pros

Crews and equipment are top notch. Decent salary and benefits, on par with industry. Budgets are good and owner is not afraid of spending money where needed.

Cons

Completely insane owner and wife team. These people are successful despite themselves. Owner is misogynistic to the core, wife is more concerned about "office girl" weights and looks than competency. Massive turnover at all levels in the admin area. Nothing is accomplished anywhere due to no one being in a position more than three months.

Pros

Nice equipment and good relationships with fellow ship mates. The best pro is knowing when you do leave this company it will be a step up.

Cons

Where to begin... The owners, a husband/wife team, redefine inappropriate and unprofessional every time they open their toxic mouths. If you are woman, prepare to be discriminated against in some way. If you are overweight and some how get a job, prepare to be ridiculed and embarrassed by these horrible people. They will smile to your face and tell you how much they love you, then send an email talking all kinds of nonsense about you just so they can see the new signature on their email. Management in all divisions will enforce their craziness in order to keep their office jobs in order to not have to attempt to operate a vessel. Company policy changes to benefit the company as the work changes. You will work a "rotation" but do not plan on having days off. Vessels are always under staffed and you will come in on your days off to fill a void. If you don't, you will be punished some how. All good reviews were written by the owners. Cost of benefits to the employee have been on the increase and pay has been decreased in the last 12 months. Plan on working more than 12 hours a day with no extra pay. Ingleside division management has no idea what they are doing. You will attend dozens of meetings to accomplish absolutely nothing. As a Captain, you are not capable of making any decisions on your vessel. As expected, you will call management and they are not able or capable of making decisions either. Every supply and grocery item you order will be questioned till the dead horse has been kicked into the sea. Then a diver will be called out so they can kick it some more. Maritime grads with no experience will be hired immediately and promoted quickly. If you stand up for what is right and fair within company policy, prepare to be barraged and humiliated in front of the entire company until you eventually resign.
