Leadership is lacking

Pros

- Everyone I worked with, up to my boss' boss, was extremely professional and competent. - The company itself is focused on something I think is very important (value-based care), and the theoretical business model is promising. - By all indications the company is trying to do right by laid off employees, with generous notice, severance packages, and some (albeit limited) transitions services. - As a developer I was largely given autonomy and trusted to make decisions. But I understand this is more a function of my direct bosses, and not at all representative of other teams.

Cons

Moves by leadership give the impression they either have no idea what they're doing, no one is rowing in the same direction, or there is no focused vision for the business. Some examples: - I counted THREE reorganizations of just my org in as many months. - There were new people starting quite literally the day before every person in my org, up to my boss' boss' boss, was laid off. So either leadership had no clue about the changes coming to necessitate the layoff, or they knew yet continued to allow everyone affected to operate like normal for quite some time. - Leadership obviously had zero or no ability to assess or mitigate what anyone could see was the biggest risk in the ECS business. So when the very likely event of BCPIA not paying as much for episodes actually happened, their only option turned out to be to just throw away a staggering amount of talent and institutional knowledge. As an employee and investor in the company, that gives me extreme pause. - In terms of organizational technology there is absolutely zero vision, strategy, or cohesion from top leadership. Mandates to use key tools and systems seemed to change arbitrarily with migration support either chaotic or unavailable, resulting in a lot of time wasted simply transitioning between equivalent systems.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoy the people you work with and the meaningful work we do here. Our decision to wind down our Episodes of Care Services (ECS) segment was made in order to focus on our fast-growing and profitable Home and Community Services (HCS) business and recent Caravan Health acquisition. We also made this decision after determining that we would be exiting the CMS’ Bundled Payments for Care Improvement-Advanced (BPCI-A) program in light of newly released information from CMS that made the program unsustainable for our clients and for Signify Health. We are working hard to make sure that all employees who are impacted by these changes are supported as they transition to their next opportunity. Please talk to your manager or HRBP--they are here to answer questions and help you as we work through the situation.

Pros

* Good people - Some of the smartest and most helpful people I have ever worked with. * Accommodating work schedule - If you need to step out for a doctor appointment, or occasionally work from home for whatever reason, the company is pretty accommodating. * Technology - They do incorporate some newer tech. * Fun events - There have been some fun events (pot luck, gift exchange) that are pretty cool.

Cons

* Benefits - Signify is really a glorified call center and our benefits match that. Insurance premiums are through the roof and the coverage isn't that great. The 401k isn't vested for two years, so that's a bummer. * Not really agile - Signify implements SAFe, which is just a way the deliver top-down control on the development teams. Instead of being technology led, the company is driven by a few people at the top of the organization. As a result, there is no innovation here and projects take entirely too long to complete (yes, I said projects). * Confusing deliverables - Priorities for the teams change often, and I don't mean in an agile way. The company will say feature A is their top priority and give a deadline for it to be complete. When that deadline comes, it seems to have been forgotten and there is a new shiny toy, feature B. Rinse and repeat. The problem with this approach is the project management mind-set of the company. Teams spend months planning and working on something just for it to be removed from their priorities. Once again, if truly agile, this shouldn't be an issue. * High Turnover - There has been what seems like higher than normal turnover for the development department. I think this may be due to my points above. It's a high stress work environment and the company really seem to have a vision on where they're going. There have been some really good people leave or get fired and we're not really sure why.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your recognition of our working environment; it means a lot that you felt like it was a great culture fit. We are constantly assessing other companies and taking in feedback like yours to improve areas we feel we can make changes in -- whether it's how we communicate our company goals, establish comp and benefits plans, and improve our day-to-day functions and efficiencies with an ever-changing market. We are continuously growing and adapting, and we take to heart all feedback from our current and past employees.

Pros

Flexibility if they have work for you

Cons

Lack of consistent work, terrible communication/support from recruiters or management. ZERO respect for field providers-visits are scheduled sometimes without even speaking to a member or worse they are deceased! Driving all over with reduced mileage reimbursement. Told if we are unwilling/unable to travel outside our coverage area, we would be removed from schedule entirely. No time allowed or travel, bathroom or lunch breaks between appointments. . Manor pay cuts for remote NPs without notice, going without work for weeks at a time-no explanation. Major corporate when most employees work

We're sorry you aren't having a good experience. Work availability varies based on location and member density. We understand that recent changes to compensation and mileage reimbursement have been challenging, but we encourage you to reach out to your regional manager with any concerns.
