Pros

The culture here is one of the best I have been a part of. The people I work with are like family and truly care about each other. The atmosphere with the kids and pets is incredible. Many Senior executives have started out in the field and have not forgotten what it's like to be there. It's a culture of storytelling which allows everyone to feel connected to what we do in each service line.

Cons

I'd like to see more focus around training in the Home Office. I know there is a training done in the field on dementia and other areas that we service and I think that people in the Home Office could benefit from that as well.

Being a family one is one of many things that makes Silverado a great place to work. At the Home Office, the leadership teams take every opportunity to work in the field and understand the different roles that we support. During the month of September, all Silverado associates will have an opportunity to complete the annual Associate Satisfaction Survey. I would encourage you to please take this opportunity to accurately describe the additional training that you believe will benefit and further educate our Home Office associates.

Pros

The residents will come into your hearts and make themselves at home! :) The pay is OK, not great but OK. I love the people I work with!

Cons

The pressure from the home office is overwhelming! NOTHING is EVER good enough, they are ALWAYS pushing you for more more more!! When they can barely take care of who is there already! The staffing ratios are not kept up and when you are working with people who have extreme behaviors that is DANGEROUS! Work-life balance is a joke...when you work for Silverado that becomes your life...say goodbye to your family and friends for they will rarely get to see you!

We really would love the opportunity to speak to you in person about your concerns. As a current associate, we want to hear from you. We are a very forward-thinking, cutting edge organization. We are very passionate about our care offerings but, more importantly, we want to make sure that you are supported and have the resources need to accomplish all of our goals. Our Home Office team is committed to providing our communities and offices support and we do our best to be in the field with you. I do hope you accept our invitation to talk. We truly would like to learn more specifics about your concerns.

Pros

Company leaders are truly passionate and dedicated to company mission of "enriching lives." Company culture is supportive and enriching for employees and customers. Employees are encouraged to be innovative and engaged with residents and families. Employees can bring their children to work to interact with the residents. Interacting with the Alzheimer's and dementia residents is very rewarding.

Cons

Work-Life balance can be hard to achieve in a business that is open 24/7. Stress can be very high, it is a very demanding job both physically and emotionally.

Thank you for sharing your story. It is always so rewarding to hear about our associate’s stories and how they were able to live out our mission during their time at Silverado. Work-life balance is a challenge, and so often our residents, clients and patients become a part of our family too. Caring for others is very demanding, both physically and emotionally, but there is not greater reward than knowing we helped provide the best care possible for another person.
