Pros

-The residents steal your heart -The families for the most part are very involved and verbalize appreciation -The caregivers and other nurses REALLY care about the residents and give good care -The working hours and availability of extra shifts if you want them -You can make a difference in at least 1 residents life everyday -Ability to make lifelong friendships with staff and/or family members

Cons

-Corporate, corporate, corporate only care about money and not the residents or staff -keep staff who blatantly do not show up for work, yet let others go who really want to be there, solely based on "personality"...which means they do not kiss up to upper mgt and corporate -If you kiss enough behinds....you can go all the way to the top -the mgt form their own opinions about the residents and staff and rarely listen to your concerns

Thank you for providing more than five great years of service to so many of our residents, their families and our fellow associates at our Calabasas community. We really do have an outstanding team of nurses and caregivers! Because of our exceptional staff, we are able to offer world-class care to those with memory related diseases. We are proud to say that so many of our associates have been promoted from within. We have been fortunate to support many of our associates become Certified Nurse Assistants, Licensed Nurses and Registered Nurses. We have many leaders who have been promoted from within to their current roles as directors. If you have any suggestions on how we can continue to improve, please feel free to share your ideas with a member of our Home Office Human Resources team. With your five years of service at Silverado, we would love to hear from you!

Pros

You can bring your kids and pets to work. The residents are amazing and a privilege care for.

Cons

The standards that the company were founded upon are now mere suggestions. When Loren Shook rolls in to town, everyone goes in motion- not out of love, but out of fear. The company has become census driven, person centered care is a thing of the past. Benefits are outrageously expensive, there is no transparency or safety for associates to voice their concerns. HR is a joke. Company spends more time flying people all over the place than providing meaningful opportunities for associates or residents. The company appears to have changed focus since the REIT became involved.

We are always looking for feedback from our current associates. We encourage our associates to provide their ideas and suggestion through our annual associate satisfaction survey, town hall meetings and by contacting a member of the Home Office Human Resources team at any time. Please reach out to us. We would love to hear about how long you have been working with Silverado, what changes you have seen and what changes you would like to see. Our associate feedback helps us to remain the innovative, industry leader memory care.

Pros

You get to make a difference in other's lives. Hard work does pay off here. The culture is very positive and loving. I get to work with some of the greatest people I have ever met in my life. The animals and children that come to work with the associates!

Cons

Training is not very thorough. Every community seems to operate differently. It sometimes feels as though there are "favorites". The "way to do things" sometimes seems a bit vague and unstructured.

Thank you for your 3+ years of service. Your commitment has truly enriched the lives of our residents, clients, patients, and their families. Our culture really defines Silverado as an innovator in our industry and a world-class care provider to those with memory care related diseases. Working towards standardization of our on-boarding and training programs will continue to strengthen our culture. We would love the opportunity to speak with you and learn your thoughts on how we can improve this process and also learn how our home office teams can be a better partner and support to our communities, at home and hospice offices. Please contact a member of our Home Office Human Resources team when you have a moment.
