Pros

Simmons is a growing bank that can serve as a good training ground. There are also opportunities to advance your career.

Cons

Simmons is not a place to get fairly compensated if you are experienced. The company looks at its employees as costs rather than assets. Also not a progressive company; it has grown too fast and it's systems and policies haven't kept up. They are focused on cutting costs at the expense of employees and morale has suffered.

Pros

It's a job. Gives you some source of income.

Cons

There are a couple people I work with who have been employed with Simmons for a long time and are very rude. Even the customers complain. They also have a tendency to think their the boss and try to constantly tell other FSRs what to do. There is little or no promotional oppurtunity or advancement. If you want to wait 5 years+ to advance then this is the job for you. The customers in the small town where I work are very rude sometimes. It is as if their money is better than everyone else's. No competitive pay. Pay is good probably for a highschool graduate, but not for an adult with bills to pay. If you are part time, there are no benefits involved at all. They tend to hire more part time employees to avoid giving benefits. Job is very stressful for the pay.

Pros

Good people in entry level and low level positions. OK work life balance but that is manager dependent.

Cons

Lots of promises that turn out to be outright lies. Poor direction from senior leadership, not much room for advancement, lots of office politics if you want to move up into management positions. The company changes its mind about it's initiatives every few months, feels like a boat without a rudder at times. There are also a decent amount of layoffs and the turnover in a lot of jobs is high. Raises are max 3%. The bank is overall performing poorly against its peers
