Not the place it used to be

Pros

Everyone is generally nice and friendly

Cons

- Losing the culture that once made it a great place to work & has now become more corporate - Management changing priorities - Seems to be all about output now and velocity as have recently introduced performance based bonuses. - Several restructures lately but it's all done undercover and not communicated which has led to teams competing with each other as to who can deliver the most, as there is an underlying fear that their team will be restructured if targets are not met

Pros

PTO - as long as you don't work in a customer facing role. It's a job.

Cons

Executive leadership there are first time executive leaders with no experience in their roles, but loads of awful leadership habits they're importing from previous companies. The amazing almost too good to be true culture died quickly with the hiring of the new CEO and everyone they hired now everyone is miserable and pointing fingers everywhere. There has been a wave of longstanding employees and leaders who have fled the company. Most of those still there are looking for a way out and will be gone as soon as they find one. Broken promises from leadership on return to office, a promise of once per month turned to 2 then 4 then 8. No reasoning just angry responses of my way or the highway.

Part of that culture is coming together for moments that matter. We understand that preferences vary, but we feel that visiting our hubs 8 times a month strikes the right balance between offering flexibility and providing frequent opportunities for us to connect. We also know that to grow as a company, which we are, there has to be some level of change. We believe our leadership has pushed for changes that will ultimately position Simply Business to succeed.
