Pros

Good company in respect of giving fruit and drinks in the office. People are generally good to speak with and approachable. Company takes pride in working on things like hackathons and other events internally.

Cons

If for whatever reason, your colleagues are not hand in hand with you, you will struggle. The company onboarded many people but not enough thinking to how they would cope. Favouritism was common with colleagues who had been working there for a long time. Those colleagues would get preferences to the work/assignments, and as someone new I would not be able to fit in. Lots of gossip takes place behind the scenes and I was glad to have left. Real benefits only pretty much fit in after probation period has finished, prior to that, there's barely anything.

Pros

Well paid. Company trips. Benefits. Small perks. Good amount of PTO compared to many American companies.

Cons

The csc is silo’d from other departments so it has its own culture. Simply Business has a great culture. The CSC has its own culture. It has changed into a call center. It can feel like the decisions made are not always in the agent interests. Upper mgt tends to choose what’s best for the company rather than what’s best for agents.

As we continue to grow and scale as a business, change will inevitably be part of our DNA to ensure we are able to meet our customers' needs in this exciting and growing market for small business insurance. The environment in our CSC is unique and we believe it is a competitive differentiator for our business. However, we appreciate that at times it may feel different to non-customer facing roles within the business. We have recently launched major initiatives such as Better Normal Week andCustomer Week. to ensure our CSC feels part of the broader culture. It also allows us to better leverage the insights from our Agents to make product recommendations. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that we are making decisions that strike the balance of what is best for our people and customers.
