Pros

- Commitment to diversity and inclusion - Technical skills are valued on par with soft skills - Impressive talent with very few egos - Openness partially or mostly remote work - Engineers are empowered to wear multiple hats and remain product-focused

Cons

As a newer business (on the US side) certain goals are still in development (i.e. career pathing, mentorship, and formalized performance reviews), though improvements are in the works.

Marketing Quiet Firing

Pros

SB used to be a great place to work with great benefits and a great team culture but that has disappeared over the last several months.

Cons

There is an awful culture in the marketing team. There is no transparency as to where you stand. It’s easy to see that some people we used to love working for are burned out and they are getting “quite fired.” People are fearful for their jobs but are afraid to speak up. Leadership thinks a potluck is going to make up for the environment they have created. SMH.

Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. It’s difficult to hear that the sense of community and culture you once experienced at Simply Business feels like it has shifted. We truly value openness as a team, and hearing this feedback is an important opportunity for us to listen and reflect. We recognize that building a supportive workplace goes beyond surface-level initiatives; it requires a deep commitment to how we communicate and show up for one another every day. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels heard, supported, and secure in their contributions, and we are focused on making sure that is the consistent experience for everyone here. If you are open, we would welcome a further conversation.
