Pros

A few nice people but mostly run by super toxic product and leadership team

Cons

This company used to care — now it’s become something I don’t recognize. Over the last few years leadership has abandoned the people who built this place: over 100 colleagues have been laid off and those left behind are treated like expendable cogs. Management’s decisions reflect priorities that aren’t about supporting employees. Pay is inadequate, morale is shattered, and respect for the workforce has evaporated. Leadership needs to own the consequences of its choices and start putting its people first — Employee experience matters and this most recent layoff shows SB believes in protecting toxic inefficient leadership with multiple homes and cars and private schools over hardworking employees. Also received reliable information that more layoffs are in store. If you did not get laid off- start looking for a job now.

Pros

Decent base pay Owned by travelers Yearly bonus Coworkers are awesome Gets you great experience to get an actual sales job elsewhere

Cons

Worst lead ownership system I have ever been a part of. You could literally do all the heavy lifting and if someone else happens to get your inbound call they get 100% of the credit. Then upper management makes you feel crazy for complaining about it. Extremely demotivating. Every newby loves this place at first because they only hire sales people that have been completely abused by their previous employer so they think SB can do no wrong until about 3 months in. They keep hiring and promoting people with absolutely no commercial insurance experience and then wonder why their quality is bad. Extremely hard to get promoted or to change positions to other parts of the company

We acknowledge that we can always improve, and value your feedback. Currently, a primary focus for us has been to continue providing our leaders and managers with the proper training to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful. It is important to us that SBers feel comfortable having open and honest conversations with their managers about their specific career and development goals. We want employees to feel empowered to initiate those discussions at any point in time. Our quarterly self reflections are also a great opportunity for employees to reflect on their career and work closely with their managers to understand current growth opportunities. As always, our managers and People Team are here to offer support, and encourage you to reach out whenever you have questions or concerns.

Pros

Company is good about trusting their employees and allowing for flexibility in things like wfh and work schedule. you feel like an actual adult being employed because you're a domain expert and are allowed to exercise your knowledge appropriately

Cons

Still needs to iron out things regarding performance reviews / feedback
