Pros

Big company. Lots of locations and job opportunities. Decent bonus opportunities.

Cons

Culture of bullying. Many of the leaders in the company are misogynistic and unethical.

Pros

You get to work in TV. Whether it is news, engineering or sales, its a great field to be in.

Cons

SBGI is a bottom-feeder company. Cheapest programming; thinnest staffing and the worst management in the country. Saying they are the Walmart of broadcasting is an insult to Walmart. You are criticized and punished for bad news ratings, when your lead in is Judge somebody or a chair-throwing screamfest, I mean talk show. This when the other folks in town have Ellen or a level of programming that gathers a more upscale and demographic friendly audience. Lots and lots of interference from headquarters, lousy equipment in the field (though transmitters and infrastructures are very good - reflecting ownership's engineering background). And be prepared to run the right wing content from Hunt Valley. Failure to do so, or or temper it in anyway is a firing offense. The company has expanded rapidly in the past few years but it hasn't created opportunity.

Pros

Interesting work, decent benefits, a good place to start out and get some experience

Cons

Training is okay, time off policies are normal. You will do better there if your a man. Inappropriate management behaviors are sometimes tolerated and covered up at the expense of others. Work load can be heavy depending on who you are. There are people there who produce or deliver very little and others who are overwhelmed and working on the weekends. You can get taken advantage of.
