Pros

It was a job, for the most part.

Cons

I could name multiple things here, but like any corporate business: -They make bad business deals and the local employees pay for these mistakes. -They only care about Wall Street. -Employees are just a means to an end, even though corporate all have golden parachutes. -They are behind in the business, and they are unwilling to keep equipment updated to be able to produce the product and it costs them revenue. -They always want the best candidates for positions, but are unwilling to pay them to have the best. The media business is changing very fast and Sinclair can't keep up.

Pros

The individual contributors have been great to work with. Dev managers and some directors have as well. Organizational structure allows for some movement, and opportunities to help with other teams.

Cons

Issues with racism have been quickly dealt with - issues of sexual harassment not so much. Pay increases have been no more than 3% every two years. Seldom are promised bonuses delivered on. There is no training budget. Re-orgs with staff cuts have come without warning.

Pros

Benefits and peers, you'll make good friends and the benefits are decent.

Cons

Management is terrible. A lot of people are leaving b/c of how much everything is falling apart. There is always a lack of communication between everyone. Most of the managers don't know what's happening -- they provide nothing to help the team besides counting pennies in their office. Raises aren't given out for the year. Other employees have stated they never got a pay raise even though they got promoted. Cheap out by forcing employees to take an hour, unpaid break in between their shift so they're forced to be at the station for an extra hour. Never bothered to match pay for people who had gotten better offers. They don't reward hard workers, there is only more work tossed onto that person. A lot of people in management don't understand what they're doing. One had force reporters to go out in blazing heat when they should be indoors for live shots. Cruel and toxic work environment. There is no care or consideration for workers. It took months to fire a manager even after numerous of HR complaints. That manager was protected by higher ups due to them being friends. There is a clear bias in what managers are chosen based on whether they're companions with someone higher in chain of command or not. They don't try to hide that at all so it puts a lot of incompetent managers in power.
