Pros

The office has a casual atmosphere.

Cons

In the past employees have called SixSpeed the McDonalds of marketing, but honestly I think McDonalds may pay their young employees better. SixSpeed’s path to profitability is based on hiring young kids with little experience and working them 70+ hours a week. All while asking them to “do what others won’t” and then coercing them to mask their exhaustion in booze. It’s an absolute abuse of power from the employer. The company’s only goal is to earn revenue and you’ll see that show up in how creative is scoped, made, and delivered. If clients knew how little true research, experience, or care informs the work they would bolt. But they won’t because they get a photo to put on an Instagram feed for a low price. It’s a toxic and chaotic work environment.

Skip this place. There are better agencies.

Pros

A few people are nice. Pay is good. Benefits were good.

Cons

If you were not part of the inner circle of "Sixspeeders", good luck. These people had it so good, that when they tried to quit, they got raises. Management is deaf and absent. Diversity? Inclusion? Not here, move along. Culture? Nope. Here is some good advice. Track down former employees on LinkedIn, and ask their most honest opinion. They will tell you how dark this place is. You'll make your decision very easy. Nobody there got along. I've seen co-workers throw each other the buses to advance up the food chain many times and it was the norm, since no one talks about it or tries to make things right. Your mental health will slowly decline and the work morale will drop significantly also. Good luck and try somewhere else.

Pros

Amazing team that truly is dedicated to working together to make awesome stuff. I feel trusted to do my work on time and never feel micromanaged. Mix of interesting clients spanning historic accounts with deep knowledge and new accounts and opportunities to learn about new industries.

Cons

Clients are still going to client, sometimes leading to quick deadlines that come up with short notice. Owned by a parent company that sometimes feels like we as an agency have lost some autonomy and speed to decisions.
