Pros

If you are an overachiever, workaholic or borderline workaholic (and love being one), have strong work ethics, embrace change and want to make a difference, this company is for you. This is no place for the mundane or just getting by. This is a fast paced, fast growing company. If your goal is professional growth and success and you are willing work hard for it - you want to work here. I love working for a company that knows how to make money and never stops looking for ways to grow. I love that I can participate in company activities that help my community. I love the people I work with and the company that I work for - it's a beautiful thing!

Cons

Look, every company has them - and most of them are based on our own personal preferences. If the 'Cons' I listed sound like something you want to be a part of....then you should give HIIG a try.

Pros

There are absolutely no pros about this company. There is no redeeming quality that I experienced during the time I that I was at HIIG.

Cons

This company is preparing to go public and upper management has stake in the company so will do anything, ethical, legal or not, to get things in order, but employees have nothing to gain from this and not be given any options. Management slave drives its employees, lies and will stab you in the back. During my interview, I asked about "work / life" balance and was lied to by an upper management member to my face that overtime was cyclical and was kept to a minimum. Absolute lie . During my stay at HIIG, I routinely worked 55-60 hours a week with many of my coworkers working even longer hours. Employees that have to take unplanned time off for any reason, or who voice opposition to the working hours are retaliated upon and often terminated. Management will pretend to care and listen when you have a legitimate problem but then will go behind your back and use what you have told them against you. I had this happen personally and saw it happen to many other employees. The turnover is insane at HIIG and management just cannot figure out why...no decent worker is going to stay and put up with that kind of treatment. HR Management has its hands tied. Additionally, benefits are terrible and expensive, but I do hear that they "might" be getting a 401K match! A benefit that every decent company on the planet already offers!
