Pros

Only pros are that if you can get on the right project and stay away from the office, you can work locally and take a break from high pressure work. Good for a temporary reprieve from real work with real people and real clients.

Cons

When I read the current employee's review posted on 4/29/14, I felt as if I could have been the one who wrote that. The Denver team is completely full of themselves and do not have the skills to back it up. It's like a social country club of wanna-be's and I was so disappointed in my time there.

Pros

They pay really well. They have very supportive internal staff (for IT issues, HR issues, etc.). They have some really fun company events (annual retreats, quarterlies, etc.).

Cons

There is no accountability and very little honesty. They have ridiculously bad middle/upper management. They are very political and slow to act. They write horrible SOW's which come back and bite the consultants.

Pros

Paid well. When business was booming they appeared to care for it's people.

Cons

I think I was hired into Slalom right at the tail end of a major boom for the consulting industry and the company itself. At first the work was flowing and we were aligned with roles and projects that matched our talents and capabilities, so we were setup for success and able to excel. And spending a few weeks on the bench between projects, waiting for the right opportunity to come along was expected and necessary. But as the work dried up the company got desperate. It became what felt like a crime to be between projects, forcing us to take on mismatched roles on projects that didn't align with our experience. Soon everyone seemed to be stuck in roles they had no hope of excelling at. And internal meetings became like therapy sessions for all those suffering from imposter syndrome. Plus the company was pushing AI hard. It was embarrassing sitting through meetings with our leadership trying to sell a weak AI product to customers who understood the field better than we did.
