Pros

Great benefits, unlimited pto, drinks on site, throw one hell of a party

The technical side of the company has a bunch of brilliant engineers being led by people who haven't a clue or don't have enough vision to execute, a board that isn't terribly technical, and a managment structure that is repeating the mistakes of the recent past. There is a huge amount of technical debt and when I left they weren't anywhere close to getting it in order. Charlatans were leading big swaths of the company for years which came to ahead very seriously not long ago. The infrastructure has been cobbled together over a series of iterations, products, changes in direction, and the tribal knowledge of how everything works has long-since gone for most of the portion of the business that pays the bills. Management doesn't respond quickly enough to technical needs or really listen to those who actually know what those needs are. The responsibility for the failures caused by that gets pinned on whoever was the last person to point out the particular ticking time bomb that just exploded in your face. Brilliant engineers being hampered by incompetent showhounds who hired poorly in middle management and don't put the tech in a technical company first. There is a lot of really stupid stuff people are too afraid to attempt fixing and heads are often firmly planted in the sand for fear of upsetting whatever grand plan the circusmasters have come up with for this particular hour of the sewage-recycling dog-and-pony lazer-light show. Oh and the merger has been even more chaos but now with two entirely different sets of kittens and twice the yarn.

Pros

Great people at the individual contributor level, good customers.

Cons

The company is facing a severe micromanagement issue, and the employees are being overworked. There is a lack of investment in the product, and the RTO was a disaster. While there is a focus on making money, the absence of a sustainable plan to achieve this is evident. The leadership team's myopic focus on short-term gains is jeopardizing long-term investments, and customers are starting to take notice.
