Pros

Genuine, kind teammates in a particular org within the company.

Cons

Cons reflect what others have said in recent reviews. Bad upper management, low compensation and lackluster benefits, little to no investment in product/technology org. CEO does not understand nor care to understand the importance of technology/engineering/product, despite running a fin-tech company.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I’m so glad you’re enjoying collaborating with our outstanding team. Regarding your concern areas, I hope that we can better showcase our commitment to the Product / Technology / Data teams. Now being a fully remote workforce, we could have done a better job of more regularly updating and spotlighting what’s going on with every team when colleagues don’t have the luxury of seeing the other teams in person. We’re proud of the amazing work done by the dozens of talented Assets in Product / Tech / Data who are - not only maintaining - but improving our systems, functions, products, and processes daily. We’re also delighted to have upped our game of late on total employee rewards (i.e. free Calm app membership, GrubHub stipend, etc). In any case - I very much hope that you’ll check in with our Product / Tech / Data leaders to get their take on investments in that area and also check in with our People Team to make sure you’re aware of all of the recent changes on the total rewards front.

Growing Pains

Pros

Work from home/remote environment, minimal interaction from managers when teams numbers exceeding goals , good opportunity to try out for leadership program, great peer interaction when looking for help or guidance, stock options, diverse leadership with females, good clubs to be apart of (book club, womens group, smartalliance)

Cons

Poor outdated commission structure (borderline insulting), minimal new hire education, micro management when struggling non existent management when you’re doing decent, forcing new scripts instead of new methods, too many new reps too often.Poor empathy from leadership when outside life occurrences happen. Random cliques of the older reps only few willing to actually assist newer reps. Bad culture compared to the sales side. Management doesn’t even acknowledge the fact that there’s significantly less leads for us to call in turn reps making way less money than they did before.

Pros

Honestly you get what you put in here. If you're willing to put in extra hours and work through lunch you'll get some great career experience. However it won't be compensated or rewarded. Great place to get some good resume bullets

Cons

Very little rewards Extremely low compensation Low morale across the board

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for spending more than three years with us! That’s a significant number of career years and we’re grateful for the commitment. I regret that you seem to have left with a dim view of things here. I’m not sure how long ago you left us - but we’ve been very encouraged by the employee engagement trends going from strength to strength in recent quarters. While we’re always a work-in-progress - the vast majority of team members (80%+) would recommend working at SmartAsset to a friend. I hope you’re thriving in your new setting.
