- Smart and high ownership coworkers - Lots of opportunity to grow and make significant impact - Highly flexible and good work life balance for most people - Still retains small company feel despite being a part of Samsung - Fun and inclusive culture - Strong emphasis on improving people of diverse backgrounds - Low process and empowered teams - Supportive managers

Cons

- Very high pace of change from being a part of Samsung - Global company requires night meetings for some - Low process does bring more churn at times - SmartThings has a dotted line to multiple Samsung divisions which makes mission and purpose unclear at times

The engineering organization was quick to adopt new processes and technologies. Generally willing to invest in refactoring and improving things.

Cons

Low retention that resulted in loss of important knowledge. There were also many issues cooperating with teams at Samsung Head Quarters in Korea.
