Pros

Generally this company pays well, it's a start up with the usual perks: lunch, ping pong table, company events and (fortunately) great coworkers.

Cons

Where to begin? I think the company tries to advertise that it is a start-up focusing on a culture that cares but there are a ton of politics- almost cult-like where everyone nods and smiles on cue but behind the scenes it's a different story. Don't get me wrong, there are some really good people working hard and truly committed to making the company a great place- the problem is they are few and far between and I think too often that not, people are afraid to really voice their concerns the way I was.

Pros

- Catered lunches - Close to Caltrain and downtown San Mateo - Decent benefits

Cons

- Office location is good but office itself is in an ancient building. Lots of inconveniences like lack of parking (you won't get a free parking spot until at least 1 year of service), terrible HVAC system (either too hot or too cold), awful bathrooms. Lack of meeting rooms, etc. - Massive CEO ego. He built this company to satisfy his ego so everything basically revolves around whether it makes him look good. - Final round of funding (F round) so this means IPO, being acquired or closing shop. - Excessive middle management. For such a small company, too many middle managers who don't do the actual work but only "manage", worse, micro-manage to keep their boss, and CEO happy. - Constant senior management turnover. In last year, VP Sales, VP Marketing, CFO, left. Mostly because the CEO keeps setting unrealistic goals and misreading the market.

There are some really good people who work here, but not in leadership.

Cons

Their leadership is probably the worst I have seen in the industry, which prevents them from succeeding.
