Pros

The only pro that comes to mind is that they are so short staffed any most locations that you can learn many different job skill sets if you are motivated and have the ability to learn. That is the only positive side of being the wearer of many hats, again this opportunity is created because they are so understaffed. You will be provided a service truck to drive home. Also, a company cell phone with a decent amount of free data a month. Snider is a good place to start out as an adult on your own.

Cons

Ok. Where to start... I'll just say this. If you need an income, sure this company will give you one at or below market value. Almost most aspects of this company is a joke. Their processes, time management, resource allocations, etc. Its like they put all the bad ideas in a hat and draw the worst one every, single, time. Management for the most part sucks. Only the brown nosing managers make it through, and the ones that care for employee's welfare get kicked to the side pretty quick. At Snider, the customer matters most, no matter the cost to the employee. As a technician at Snider, dont expect to get off work at a consistent time. They will run you at max DOT hours daily if thats what it takes. Damn your own time. Expect no work life balance. Its not always redlining like this, but you need to go into work everyday prepared for it. Matter of fact, if you are on call and run a few night services in the early a.m., you will still be required to come into work for the norm of 10 hour work days. This is a blatant violation of the DOT, however management knows but looks the other way. Snider has no contingency to fix this. It will take someone getting killed on the road before its addressed. You will wear many hats and do many different tasks in most technician roles. Not because to make you a more well rounded individual, but out of necessity. They are sooo understaffed, I know of one state that is on the verge of collapse of service. Meaning that the state has lost over 90% of its commercials technicians from quitting. Why? Because your welfare as an employee will ALWAYS be second to making a buck, and they WILL have you redlining for half of the year. A competent management would address this, but it wont be. They are the old guard type boomer and the blame would be shifted on you, the technician. You see, management in this company get paid bonuses every year of how much money they save and profit for the year. You guessed it, shops are falling apart and the technicians live off the bread crumbs of equipment. Managers can get up to huge bonus but you as a technician will live off commission programs* *only if you make a certain quota a month, otherwise you wont get a commission check for that month Its a sleazy selling point that really isnt that true. Most cool things for this company have a * I can go on and on. My best advice is use this company like they would use you, a stepping stone. This is not a career company! Just always keep in the back of your mind that you are training to move on the better things. This isnt a place for a good work life balance, but it will keep food on your table.

Pros

Reckognized industry leader in thier field Great opportunity for Tire Technicians and Deisel Mechanics to make lots of money. Safe, clean work environment.

Cons

Company clearly defines their expectations. Middle and upper management flagrantly ignore them. Micro-management is prevalent. Human Resources Department is not managed well (if at all).

Pros

Direct deposit. Pays bi-weekly. Holiday celebrations.

Cons

Limited growth opportunities, low salaries, and no raises. Vacation package is a joke, no sick days. Will not work with you in personal appointments and flexible schedule. Very demanding. Behind on use of technology. I worked there for over 2 years and never got a raise in spite of being praised for outstanding performance. There really isn’t a lot of opportunities to advance even though they are a large company. Most jobs that are a step up are created specifically for people, so you never hear of a new position until the announcement is made that someone was promoted. A lot of their processes are broken, and some things have to be done multiple times in order to achieve the results needed, their use of manpower efficiency is poor. Management delegate their tasks onto those under them while the management sits in their offices playing on social media all day. Many employees are overwhelmed and overworked, but the management just keeps dumping more work on them, which causes stress and animosity. There is a lot of favoritism and nepotism among the company as well, so if you are a great employee, with a fantastic work ethic, but aren’t related to someone who works in management or one of the “teachers pet” it’s hard to get any opportunities of moving up. If they have to close due to inclement weather they make you use vacation. Sometimes at End of Month they won’t let your take a lunch break.
