Pros

Customer service attitude permeates through the company

Cons

It's a culture of nepotism. Its not uncommon to see multiple generations at the company, so its who you know. You want DEI? How about hiring the most qualified!!!!! 80% of employees are doing the bare minimum in their role but it gets better. HR recommends these employees get salary bumps instead of trimming the fat. Lower productivity from teams is the rule not the exception. Leaders did not enforcing in ofc days 2x a week but they sure let you know about their badge swiping report. The company announced a 3 day in ofc work week to boost productivity and weed out low performers. Who leaves after you just awarded avg and below avg employees salary bumps. What a terrible HR strategy to retain top performers and "weed out" low performers. So... I went to Edison where I got 20% bump and 1 day in the ofc.

Obsolete and antiquated

Pros

Stability, tends to attract good employees, strong union presence.

Cons

The company is well past it's prime and employee morale is at an all time low both on the union and management sides. Micromanagement is ever increasing, benefits and perks are disappearing and compensation and COL adjustments are inadequate. Most employees are overworked and underpaid. The few employees that still attempt to be optimistic are starting to leave for better opportunities that offer a better work life balance and compensation to boot. This company seems hellbent on forcing most of its staff to quit by making the work environment as inefficient and uncomfortable as possible. Walk through the aisles of any office and you'll hear murmers of people's many gripes with the direction the company is taking. I expect they won't survive, at least as they are now considering the upcoming electrification of California. My assumption is that executives are aware of this fact and are looking to downsize its staff in the interim until they find a way to stay relevant in the new California Utility landscape.
