Thank you for sharing your SoFi experience - we see feedback as a gift that will only help us continue to improve. As you may know, we're committed to creating a culture where people love to work, and that starts with a phenomenal team. We're so happy to hear you have experienced that firsthand. The rate at which SoFi is growing is helping set us up for long-term success, and in turn is creating myriad opportunities for our employees to learn and grow. That being said, we acknowledge that this rapid growth comes with what feels like constant change and we are conscious of the affect that has on our employees. If you haven't done so already, we highly encourage you to visit the Benefits Mall or reach out to our Benefits team directly to better understand all the incredible resources we have to support our employees during this time, where we know work/life balance and burnout are rampant across many companies. We encourage you to continue this conversation with your manager or PBP. Your health and wellness is of the utmost importance. Thank you for being on this journey with us!

Pros

Great benefits and co-workers. Company-paid medical premium for you & family, unlimited PTO (theoretically), lunch stipend, pre-IPO equity

Cons

Hours are very demanding and operations is almost always understaffed. Unlimited PTO is great for those who can use it, but often understaffed and always busy means there's never a time to be out of the office. Company also targets salaries below market rate, claiming equity compensation and bonuses make up for it, but the reality is if you rely on your paycheck you may be happier elsewhere.

First and foremost, thank you for the time you dedicated to working at SoFi. While we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the benefits we offer employees, and loved your co-workers, we're disappointed to hear you did not feel your compensation package was competitive and that you didn't feel you had work/life balance while you worked here. We value all of our employees and want them to know that their health and wellbeing should always come first. We have quite a few resources to support our employees' mental health and burnout during these challenging times. Additionally, we frequently review employee compensation to ensure it is fair and competitive based on external market data. Please know that we share comments like yours with leadership so we can continue to set SoFi up for success in the future. Thank you again for the review. If you would like to continue the conversation, we encourage you to reach out to us at glassdoor@sofi.org. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Pros

free snacks and drinks health benefits

Cons

Sofi is the absolute worst company to work for. I wouldn’t recommend anyone work there. Sofi is a giant lie. They lie about the culture, they lie about inclusion. All Sofi cares about is money. They could care less about the people who work for them. Managers will lie and find ways to terminate employees they don’t like. Pay is below average, especially when compared to companies like Citibank and Bank of America. They demand perfection out of their employees with little room for error while managers get endless time off and you have very little support

Thank you for your candid feedback. Our Operations employees are on the front lines talking to our members every day, and helping them get their money right. We are incredibly grateful for their (and YOUR!) dedication to our mission. Your comments are not indicative of the culture we are striving to create. While we are glad to hear you have enjoyed some of the benefits we offer employees, we are troubled to hear your comments around poor management and unethical behavior. We do not condone this behavior in any way. We are continuing to roll out trainings for managers that will help give them the tools and resources they need to keep supporting and inspiring their teams. We also frequently review employee compensation to ensure it is fair and competitive based on external market data. While we know we are on thin ice with you, we would like the opportunity to further understand your experience so we can improve in the future. We see feedback as a gift, and deeply care about our employees' experience, so we would like to know more. If you feel comfortable, please reach out to me directly, your People Business Partner, or email glassdoor@sofi.org so we can discuss further.
