Pros

Benefits are 100% company paid for employees and their families. Starting wage is really great. That's where it ends....

Cons

MANDATORY 55+ hour work weeks. Management who will back-stab one another and take employees down with them. Unsustainable business model and very bad advertisements. To borrow a phrase from their 2016 Superbowl ad... NOT GREAT.

Pros

SoFi had some really good low level managers. It was obvious they were in a TON of unnecessary meetings, and frazzled by their mangers, but they often shielded us from this.

Cons

Assaf Ronen is running this company straight into the ground. He often throws valuable team members under the bus publicly, and doesn't understand or appreciate the work being done. He's got a track record of this at his previous employers, and I'm confused why upper leadership hasn't corrected this. Your stock options won't be worth the paper they're printed on due to constant cash injections from Saudi's, etc. They'll spend millions on a football stadium and then lay off key staff thinking that their responsibilities can just be absorbed by those left behind. And if all that isn't bad enough, you have HR making key technical decisions.

We see feedback as a gift that will only help us improve the employee experience, so thank you for taking the time to share such a candid review of your time at SoFi. Your comments are not indicative of the culture we are trying to create. Your feedback around leadership, transparency, and our values are very disappointing to hear as we continue to make investments to improve these areas. For example, our Value of the Month programming helps connect our daily work to each value and helps us bring them to life at work (and at home!). Plus, our weekly All-Hands meetings are a chance for our employees to ask tough questions of our leaders in an open forum. We're on a mission to building a best-place-to-work caliber company, and that starts with our leadership. Our Engineering, Product and Design organization is building the future of the fintech industry, pushing boundaries to architect and design next-level products for our members. We're proud of the work the team is doing, and we continue to focus on rolling out learning and development programs so our managers have the training and resources to empower their teams to do their best work. We sincerely thank you for the 4+ years you dedicated to working at SoFi, and wish you all the best in your next career move. Take care.

Pros

Decent salary, benefits, and office perks (SF).

Cons

There are many to list but I think they can be condensed to a toxic culture and visionless upper management. The CEO touts the company culture as the best in the world. Don't believe it for a second. You can see the toll that the culture takes on new employees after just a few months. Suggestions that improvements can be made are disregarded or shushed. I did not get the sense that many in upper management had a time horizon of more than a year. Also, upper management's impulse is to throw tens of millions of dollars at expensive marketing gimmicks--the business outcomes of which aren't measured by the way-- rather than invest in improving a suite of very mediocre products.

We're sorry to hear that your experience at SoFi was anything less than what you anticipated. Creating the best culture in the world is an aspiration of ours, and while we have made great progress in working toward it, we don't claim it as our current reality. We know we can't achieve this goal without the input of our employees, so thank you for sharing your candid thoughts with us. We value all feedback, in whatever form it comes, and will take it into consideration as we move forward.
