Pros

SoFi is a modern bank with outstanding products and an exciting horizon. Pay is competitive and I enjoyed working with many bright colleagues on impactful projects.

Cons

The business controls organization is in dire need of modern direction. There are many workstreams that directly conflict with each other, resulting in confusion and fire drills. It often feels like the directors we report to don’t talk to each other, and I’ve been on calls where these leaders admit to not knowing basic parameters of our workflows. My team barely talked to each other and the entire organization’s morale was extremely low through the duration of my tenure. Upward feedback was consistently provided, but fell on deaf ears above the VP level. Employee wellness is suffering because of how disorganized things are and I’ve witnessed multiple individuals succumb to severe burnout including myself.

Terrible leadership

Pros

SoFi was a great place to work with good managers who care about employees and set up clear directions

Cons

Now it's getting horrible with bad culture and senior leadership. They don't care about employees but ask them to work day and night without any recognitions or appreciations. Sometimes they even don't respect you or your work. Senior leadership is too micro to push all the pressure to the team and is bad at setting up expectations and providing guidance.

Thank you for leaving a review and for the time you dedicated to working at SoFi. We're disappointed to hear the experience didn't meet your expectations towards the end of your time at SoFi. Your feedback is not indicative of the type of working environment or culture we are committed to fostering. The last thing we want our employees to feel is that they are just a number, as we would not be where we are today without them. We hope you reached out to your People Business Partner to discuss your experience and concerns about the leadership style and recognition you experienced during your time at SoFi. If you would like to continue this conversation, you can reach out to glassdoor@sofi.org so we can better understand your concerns and address them directly. Pros

none that I can think of

Cons

the new leaders / new top dogs running the 'show' have a bet to see how many people they can burn out and force to leave (not a joke, this is real) they brought their attitudes from prior banking companies and have zero remorse for the humans putting in the work. it doesn't help when you're senior leadership is using racist terminology and it's a he said vs she said kind of thing and in the end, the workers get screwed. stay away, they're a sinking ship

Thank you for your candid review. We take your comments very seriously, as listening to and acting on feedback from our employees is the only way we will be able to achieve our "best place to work" ambitions. We are deeply concerned to hear your feedback about leadership and discrimination and to hear working at SoFi didn't meet your expectations. Your comments are not indicative of the type of culture or workplace we are committed to fostering. We want all of our employees to feel supported by their leaders. We hope you shared this feedback with your PBP or reached out to the EthicsPoint hotline, where employees are able to lodge a confidential concern at any time. Please know that we take every claim of discrimination we receive extremely seriously, and we'd like to continue the conversation to better understand your experience. If you're open to it, please email our team at employeerelations@sofi.org or glassdoor@sofi.org. Take care.
