Pros

Benefits overall are great. They pay for premiums on some plans and make an HSA contribution.

Cons

A bit broken on the inside. Demand to perform but won't provide the support needed. Won't hire more people for important job functions.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad you are enjoying some of the benefits we offer, but are troubled to hear that overall, working at SoFi isn't meeting your expectations. One of the biggest takeaways from our most recent Employee Engagement Survey was around tools and resources needed to do your best work, and our leaders have been working with their teams to put together action plans to help improve in this area so we can scale efficiently. If you have any suggestions, we encourage you to share them with your manager. You're also welcome to reach out to your PBP or email us at glassdoor@sofi.org if you'd like to continue this conversation. Thanks for the review, and we hope we can work together to improve your experience.

Operations department is a mess

Pros

Decent pay and great benefits

Cons

Operations department is completely unorganized and changes policies and procedures constantly. Loan reviewers are supposed to process applications but we are treated like telemarketers or customer service agents because management expects us to constantly be on the phone. Despite this, we still have expectations to process a lot of loans. Managers make decisions that make employees' jobs harder but they don't care about employee feedback. They send out employee surveys, which consistently have negative results, but nothing ever changes.

First and foremost, thank you for the 4+ years you dedicated to working at SoFi. The speed at which the fintech industry is changing means that we have to be flexible and adaptable to set SoFi up for long-term success, and to ensure we achieve our mission of helping people achieve financial independence. That said, your feedback around your experience on the Operations team is concerning. We never want our employees to feel our managers make the job harder; but we do have performance metrics in place for our team, so they know how to succeed in the role. Lastly, we hear your feedback on the employee survey and we are taking action to address opportunities directly. You may have left before our HR team hosted a series of 10 focus groups with Ops employees to address concerns in the most recent employee survey and create an action plan to improve. If you would like to continue this conversation, we welcome an email at glassdoor@sofi.org. Best of luck in your next career endeavor! Take care.

Thank you for taking the time to share such candid feedback. We utilize Glassdoor to not only give candidates a glimpse into what it’s like to work at SoFi, but also to compile, listen to and act on feedback from our employees, so we take your review very seriously. Many of your comments are not indicative of the type of culture we are trying to build at SoFi. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcomed, included, and able to contribute. That starts with having a world-class management team. We are rolling out a new Learning & Development program focused on manager excellence with a series of training to give all SoFi managers the tools and resources to support and inspire their teams. Additionally, we realize cross-company communication and planning are a challenge as we work from home, and building an inclusive remote culture is new to us all. Even as we WFH, we strive to create community and share internal opportunities of growth for our employees. We’ve launched the GROW mentorship program to help inspire, empower, and elevate our employees and most underrepresented communities within SoFi and Galileo by fostering professional relationships. We also have our Explorer Program that is launched every 6 months where we offer the ability to work cross-functionally with other parts of our business to expose employees to the different career paths that are available. Thank you again for your candid review, and if you would like to continue this conversation, we invite you to reach out to your PBP or email us at glassdoor@sofi.org. "
