Pros

Work remotely lunch card allowance Great stepping stone for MLO's to just get your foot in the door.

Cons

Changed compensation plan 2 times in the past year for the worst. No transparency. Too many barricades to do your daily job functions. Management admits that processing is purposely not working files due to a transition to guaranteed rate. Too many to list.

We are aware of some of the challenges from a tools perspective, and can assure you that we are working on identifying a more efficient and streamlined system. We frequently review employee compensation to ensure it is fair and competitive based on external market data and individual performance. Additionally, we realize cross-team communication is an area of improvement - our most recent employee survey data showed that this is top of mind for many of our employees. Pros

The people (not necessarily management), but the people that make SoFi work and who run the operations are great. Motivated, talented and just nice to work and be around.

Cons

The company has been through a lot of changes, which impacted me at the time of hire. I was hired for a specific salary and promised a certain percentage of bonuses based on performance - it was actually written in my contract. After being hired, within a short amount of time, my manager left the company. My new manager changed my role, and then this manager was replaced and the next manager changed my role again. I could flow with the changes and do my best, but in reality - the job wasn't at all what I signed-up to do. I had passed on a different opportunity in choosing to come to work at SoFi. Since the the hiring manager left within 1 week of my start date, and knew he was going to leave, I felt that it was dishonorable to not have given me the heads-up, so I could have made a different choice. I never received any bonuses, even though I had worked many weekends to assist on projects. This general lack of follow-though and general leading by chaos seemed to be a pattern throughout much of the company.

Pros

Good company, good place to work and lots of perks. Company seems to have a clear direction where it is headed

Cons

Unfortunately I was promised a change in pay after 6 months. I was just told I did qualify for the increase this coming 3rd quarter. It is very deflating and feels very demoralizing. Not sure I made the right choice with this company. Don't think I would recommend it.

That said, your comments around being promised compensation does not sound in line with our expectations for the hiring or promotion process, so we'd like to continue this conversation. Q3 wage changes don’t go into effect until August 23, 2021 and managers are having these discussions with their teams between August 9th - 20th.
