Pros

Soar provides high quality care to their kids. I appreciate their use of ESDM, because it allows for naturalistic play and empathy. They have a high emphasis on support and are constantly asking for employee feedback. You receive full time benefits if you work at least 30hr/week, and there is time off. Soar provides lunches and snacks for RBT's and clinicians. Most of the management is receptive to feedback and will do what they can to work with you. There are quarterly opportunities for promotions or pay raises.

Cons

Scheduling is very difficult. I would recommend starting at Soar with clear boundaries on what you need for your schedule, and if you have full availability, you will likely have gaps in your day. They will attempt to fill it with coverage, but some weeks there are higher staffing levels than others. There is a high turnover rate which can be overwhelming. The company is relatively new, so policies and processes throughout the company change every couple of months to attempt to be more efficient, so it is important to be adaptable to change.

Pros

Developing a bond with my clients has been my favorite part about coming into work everyday! At Lakewood, there is a familial connection with all the staff and everyone seems to work together very well.

Cons

Working with kids really takes a special type of person and there is instances of burnout and doubt that you may get from time to time. As long as you can listen to yourself and be aware and are Abel’s to keep your mental health in tact, you will not have any problems.

Pros

- They value the input of their employees at all levels (from RBTs to upper level clinicians/directors) - They spend time piloting new systems and collecting feedback from employees prior to implementing change across the company - They have lots of incentive systems in place to encourage high levels of attendance for RBTs to minimize impact to client schedules - Interdisciplinary care between ABA, speech, and OT is imbedded in therapy sessions throughout the week which helps promote collaboration across all disciplines - Overall very positive culture and lots of room to grow

Cons

- Scheduling has an impact on day-to-day operations (both for clients and staff) - As a newer organization, things change as the company reevaluates current systems and things that are/are not working - Director and management roles often work late at night which fosters a culture of working outside of working hours which can affect people's work/life balance
