Pros

Social atmosphere, opportunities for interesting technical work, and hard-working colleagues to learn from

Cons

Project portfolio satisfaction is the luck of the draw, and most mentorship and technical learning opportunities must be explicitly sought out. If you're not in the good graces of the company's upper crust, you'll be denied opportunities for growth. Relentless attention to client satisfaction comes at a cost, and staff burnout is common.

Pros

The people are excellent. SI is truly a collection of intelligent and emotionally intelligent professionals. Internal systems and processes are slowly but surely catching up to the company's growth.

Cons

Work life balance remains poor despite much talk of improvement. Long or unpredictable hours are routine and routinely ignored by upper management. Key holes in senior leadership remain unfilled.

Pros

Very energetic young organization Majority of staff is under 40; highly motivated Good benefits program: 401(k); paid time off; maternity/paternity/domestic partner leave; tuition reimbursement

Cons

staff works long hours due to amount of work and their sense of duty to do the utmost to please clients Senior management has yet to achieve the balance needed to create the optimal work-life balance for staff; they are working on it, but graduating from a small to medium sized business has created some stumbling blocks along the way
