Pros

benefits, pension, tsp, flex schedule,

Cons

EVERYTHING! Literally THE WORST job I've ever had. Training was just horrible and the 'mentors' were rude and GHETTO and just unhelpful. UGH and working on systems that's out dated was painful. very glad I left!

Pros

Pay is higher than a lot of private sector. Benefits

Cons

Workload is too big and expectation is to do the work of 4 people. Pay isn’t enough for the amount of work done. Promise if regular OT hours only to not deliver. Lack of promotional opportunities. Worst part is how horrible managers are. They don’t care about their employees-only meeting numbers. If you have a disability with an RA, prepare to have that ignored and to be treated like the black sheep.

Pros

I am a “Generalist” which essentially means I have to know how to do everything. The workloads are impossible. The technology just makes work more difficult. I understand why the public is frustrated with the agency and the employees are the punching bags for the public. It’s impossible to not be stressed out at this job unless you adopt an attitude of not caring. Actively working on leaving in order to preserve my sanity. Already started anxiety meds and that’s not enough. Avoid.

Cons

See above describing cons. Pros are leave time because this job will make you really need it.
