Pros

Flexible schedule that’s about it.

Cons

Training is terrible. Basically self taught. Workload is overwhelming, not enough help. If you ask for help they slap policy at you which is basically a bunch of jargon no one understands. How can you run an organization with such importance when people don’t fully understand their jobs?! Management is TERRIBLE!!!! A bunch of people who have been their for decades with a power trip. Favoritism is prominent. If you’re an educated individual and question management you’re basically asking to be on the radar. The union is supposed to back to and dances in circles around problems. Management uses intimidation tactics to micromanage employees. This even goes up the chain to higher level management. Never seen anything like it!

Pros

It’s a job! It’s a good stepping stone to better federal jobs

Cons

The workload is a lot. Management is awful! Some are bullies some are ghetto and unprofessional, and a small few are nice but not helpful at all. Training is terrible, be prepared to learn on your own and have high expectations that you should just know the job. It will take about 2 years to “kind of” fully understand the job. It’s a lot of information. Mentors don’t want to be bothered to help but grade you wrong. If you work here join the union because you will need someone to have your back at some point. It’s a good start in the federal government but not a place many stay for the long haul.
