Pros

The company is dedicated to building talent and expertise depending on which field you plan on going into within the IT Industry. The Solutions Architects and Services Teams are hands on the best I have engaged with so far and really know their solution when engaging with the end users . Furthermore, the relationship and engagement process with vendor partners is much more fluid at Softchoice due in part to its "people culture" -Benefits are very decent: Includes excellent medical insurance with low premiums and low deductibles; 401k with matching; and all the other perks of working in IT -Beer cart Fridays -One of few companies to allow dogs at work -Accountability: if you worked on it and it's yours, it belongs to you -Direct line to CEO and your input matters -Ahead of the reseller game in technology and using what we sell

Cons

-Company needs to spend more time on advertising itself outside of internal marketing. We compare ourselves to CDW-G, but where are we endorsing our company? -Slow expansion of inside sales teams to cover bandwitdh of increasing sales -Hard to engage Services Team in government business -Long-term plan?

Pros

Good place to start as an entry level job out of college. Good on boarding program which prepares sales reps to be successful.

Cons

Went private and with that went the culture. Used to be fun, work hard play hard type environment with supportive managers and great employees. Now management micro manages and goes through employee emails. There is no trust and over half my former team left within months of our manager getting fired. Compensation is way under market average and the way the business model is set up, the longer you work for this company the more money they will make off of you. You are required to grow your business 20% year over year to maintain your standard of living. There hasn't been a raise in over 5 years. A raise was promised and then taken away 13 days before it will supposed to hit the employees pay checks.

Thanks for your feedback. Like any organization experiencing growth, we recognize we still have work to do! As a sales organization, growing the business with our clients is an expected part of contributing to our financial performance. The truth is though, at Softchoice, growth isn’t just about financial gain. While we definitely focus on sales productivity and plan attainment, we’re equally focused on personal growth too. That’s why we provide weekly training to sales as well as incentive trips to encourage top performance. The fact is, growing as professionals and having fun while we do it is what motivates us to win in the marketplace. And as it relates to compensation, we focus on a total rewards program which includes base salary, bonus, and benefits. While dependent on overall business and individual performance, merit increases are an important part of this mix. We also consistently assess market data, and making adjustments where necessary across our entire organization. In fact, we have adjusted the compensation for roles in all our sales channels whether they be field sales or inside sales to ensure we are competitive in the market.

Pros

It's a great place to start a sales career. You get some great training on technology sales.

Cons

Not a great place to have a long term sales career as the compensation plan doesn't support long term growth. It supports single year growth....and once you achieve that growth...you're hosed for the next year.
