Pros

The culture really is great and the people are awesome. It's a really fun place to work and you can bring your dog. You can make some good money if you smash your quota and hit your accelerators.

Cons

The culture has changed drastically since they went private a couple years ago. Moving more towards high volume, transactional selling instead of solution selling. Real focus on dials (40 a day), so if you are killing your plan but not hitting 40 dials, you're called out. Managers are getting less and less knowledgeable and are not invested in helping you grow in your career. All this as you grind your way to plan for what most would consider an inadequate salary. which is probably why turnover is so high.

Pros

You get to sell almost every IT-related hardware, software and service, with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft licensing, to all kinds of small and medium businesses. Lots of mingling with reps from other vendors, so networking in the industry happens often. Lots of perks, like vendor-sponsored happy-hours, ongoing training, charity involvement and dogs at work. It's a friendly place that values character. Lots of younger workers keeps energy high.

Cons

High-intensity, every single day, is not for everybody. Not only are there financial targets, but phone-dial-activity targets, which feels old school, but comes with the terriroty. Not enough access to technical resources for newer reps unless they're working on lucrative deals. High turnover rate makes the job feel like it's considered disposable.

Mixed feelings about it, hard to leave.

Pros

Everyone who worked there was beyond helpful. Anyone was willing to help out with any kind of questions. Everyone has a positive attitude.

Cons

Training and the real job are totally different. Maybe my view was skewed because it was my first job, but the two were night and day. The expectations for the first few months hinder the ability to do much else. Then you realize that they don't necessarily end after those few months. Straight cold-calling.
