Pros

When you're young and have low expectations, the Beer Fridays and Take your Dog to Work seem like a great thing. If you have little desire to be more then an amateur salesperson, this is a great place to work.

Cons

Upper management is a joke. Their philosophy is to pour a few beers down their employees throats and assume they'll overlook the fact that their comp plan sucks and their reps are a bunch of Koolaide drinking dorks who love to scream "I bleed Orange" at Launch in Toronto"! It's unbelievable!!!! Obviously these kids out of college buy into it before they mature enough to realize they've been used by this Canadian way of doing business. US stockholders would never put up with this type of BS.

Pros

Good place to start after graduation. That's about it.

Cons

Management holds you accountable for things that are out of your control. If you are a spiritual person and need to practice your religion, forget about working here. Co-employees also have weak moral fibre, meaning they will step over you or their customers to get what they want. They also promote inexperienced people to management levels and some of them are racist. They won't say it but actions speak louder than words. When you need time off for a personal emergency and if it lasts too long, you might get fired because to them 'the business comes first'. Also forget about talking to HR about any issues you may have. Whenever I went to them, they would always tell me to speak to my manager. Obviously, your manager is not helping you so that's why you come to HR isn't it? People also tend to form 'cliques' there. If you don't hit plan, you're gone. Many people came to work not knowing if they will be fired today or not. Softchoice also has a tendency to praise people and it just becomes annoying after a while. There is no work/life balance here because people bring their personal lives into the workplace. This is because the culture allows it. It's too open. If you want to move to another department, you need to be 'outstanding' in your current role for managment to even 'consider it'. There's a lot more, but in conclusion this is a place that zeroes in on what's wrong with a employee and if there's some success, they will soon forget it. A very ignorant company that only cares about dollars and cents. High turnover. No respect.

Pros

Being able to interact with Senior Management; its a great place to learn the technology industry and interact regularly with many key manufactures keeping pace for the industry; reputable organization - integrity first; it feels like you are a part of a family.

Cons

Competition is poaching our employees, every other LAR/VAR copies our business plan- though they are years late to the table, and you have to work 50-60 hrs a week to be really sucessful here; bleeding orange is almost necessary.
