      Pros

      There used to be many good reasons to work at SolarCity before they went public. Mostly is was great people working around you. Since going public it has become one of the worst places to work I have ever experienced. The metrics focused company now treats its employees like a number.

      Cons

      The pay is lower across the board than similar industries. There is no leadership anymore. If you like passing the buck around then you will love working here. The installers are the best group of people in the company, but they are overworked and constantly asked to "do more" with no increase in pay. The corporate level people are insincere and fake. They like to spend any chance of profit flying around the country patting themselves on the back.

      Pros

      Coworkers are great and try to help eachother as much as possible.

      Cons

      Very low pay, They will inflate your potential earnings at your interview and they will change your commission structure and pay you less the longer you are there. They will set quota goals that are barely reachable and will put you on Probation (PIP) if your sales are low. Keep in mind as a marketing representative (field energy advisor) you will be held responsible if the sales people cannot close the opportunities (appointments you set) you give to them. You will see a higher turn over rate than your local fast food restaurant.
