Pros

None that you can imagine

Cons

During a weekend conversation with a friend from Southern India, we discussed issues at SWI. The dialogue touched on casteism’s influence on decision-making within American companies led by individuals from that region. Notably, favoritism at SWI, particularly on the product side, revealed a pattern of promotions favoring those from upper castes, indicating a dual challenge of favoritism and casteism in the current setup.

Pros

A few outstanding individuals, a few exceptional software items (usually the result of acquisitions), and a few outstanding users of the software.

Cons

- Middle management makes a show of trying, but all they really offer is micromanagement, task delegation, and a place where people may voice their opinions and then promptly forget them. There is also minimal transparency, as upper-level management makes significant choices that have an impact on your employment with little to no thought given to how they will affect regular employees.

Pros

work from home during COVID

Cons

The new management is the worst. The Chief Product Officer wasn't respectful or collaborative to existing employees when he came in, and attrition in UX, Dev and PM is now well over an acceptable standard. People in those orgs under him are now being asked to work nights and weekends to meet unreasonable requests that cannot be met with current staffing. People's jobs were downgraded a level globally with no communication to affected employees. Some offices have glaring issues with misogyny and racism that are not being addressed. It's a cultural cesspool and the right people are not in the right places for this to be a healthy place to work. If you interview here, ask about culture, attrition, diversity and global site strategy before making a decision to work here.
