Pros

Solarwinds is essentially a no-kill shelter. They will not fire you, even if you don't show up for days at a time. New CEO seems like he's on a better track than the nightmare of KBT.

Cons

Before the breach, we were making some slow-but-steady progress towards newer tech. After the breach, it has been mind-numbing security theater. Management no longer trusts their teams and has reverted to micromanagement. Absolute nightmare. Pay was about 30% below market with no intention of fixing it. Employee morale is in the dumps. Can't hire anyone for backfill because the salary isn't competitive. Only stayed on because it was a steady paycheck during a pandemic. Old CEO would send out proselytizing emails around every Christian holiday. Not a good look for a diverse global company.

Global Mess

Pros

At first it seems like you've hit the jackpot with SWI. But it doesn't take long to realize that this Global Corporation is an absolute mess. There are always good people wherever you go and SWI was no different. Some really great people working to do good things. But it cannot change the fact that this CORPORATION is run by someone who cares more about buying another company for their product, rather than actually ensuring that the products we have are in good standing. So to the point a few Pros' 1. People 2. Free Food 2x a Week, more if you are in Sales or support Sales 3. The location is pretty... 4. Benefits are good

Cons

So as I said before this place is kind of a mess, and it is much worse now of course given the recent hacking scandal. Even though I said that People were part of the Pros' they are also part of the Cons'. The "Good Ol'boy" mentality is very pervasive, there are definitely more men than women and many of the male managers get to act however they wish. When you hear other managers, even those above your own say "They just get frustrated" anytime they have a temper tantrum that is obviously not appropriate in a meeting with VPs and other Executives as well as their teams you know that they've been coached to allow the poor behavior.

Toxic Work Environment

Pros

*Good benefits *Enjoyed my direct counterparts

Cons

This work environment is TOXIC! Upper management LOVES being "super busy", passive aggressive, duplicitous, and self-important. You will be told with pride that this culture is "weird" or Machiavellian and it is all true.
