Pros

Solarwinds hire great people. Get to meet some folks that are really good at what they do. They have snacks that are nice.

Cons

Well... Ill just say the rest of the reviews are spot on in most cases. In sales there are always new faces and it really hard to connect with anyone since they will be gone within a year. You really have to be in the right group.

Pros

Red bull fridge food Money and Spiffs. All of you should be ashamed of yourself. The Unicorn is Sad. Truth is there is one real representation of the Sales org in here and this will be the second. The first one was written by a 4 year rep that sells like crazy and yes is not approachable at all, but well respected. If your looking for this job your probably used to sales schedule atmosphere, etc. So if you think you will find different then your wrong and go work for the government or something. Are you asked to meet metrics and pushed by management, yes if your mediocre. I have been with the company almost a year and those who succeed make well over 90k and even 100k on a 40base 40commission plan. I'm well on my way. I have never felt micromanaged and if it got close, the deal got closed and I got paid and I forgot about it real quick. Most sales gigs work crazy hours. I got my first Labor Day off in 5 years. No emails or calls. No pressure. The people complaining about pay are the ones taking 30-45 minutes chatting getting coffee checking Facebook weather etc before they get on the phone. I come in early 15-30 and take lunch later quicker and sometimes eat at my desk because when they leave I get calls that equaled half my bonus last quarter. Then they complain I get "hooked up" with good stuff, but guess what nobody told the customer to call when they went to lunch. Then when I show I can follow the process and don't hold onto customers for 9 months in case they buy a $3000 piece of software, my manager has to give me more stuff because I called mine found out it wasn't ready and got rid of it. So I can reach twice as many customers. Do the math. BOTTOM line. Managers LOVE a hard worker and this is a great rewarding place to work. It will change your life and lifestyle. Upper management is even better and guess what they are supposed to be. It runs down hill and your direct manager is supposed to be the one managing you. GET IT?! Come work here you will love it if you don't come here to get free money. If you can only call thirty people a day. You get paid appropriately

Cons

All the sad complacent reps with their hands out looking for a freebie.

Pros

If you live Austin and can adapt, you can rise quickly. Everything changes, constantly.

Cons

If you don't live in Austin, out of sight out of mind. Career promises are rarely kept either due to the constant shifting or just flat out lies.
