Pros
The other reps you work with in sales can be great, and you bond by being in the trenches together. Products are easy to sell if you take the time to learn them. Nice building, parking is a nonissue, cool sharing a campus with AMD.
Cons
Old school sales system. If you can make it here a year, you can at least lateral move anywhere else. Culturally this place leaves so much to be desired. You basically can’t take time off around Christmas since it’s the end of the fiscal year. You’re asked to hound customers to the point of a reputation being built among the Solarwinds customer base. The CEO is wildly out of touch with what’s happening on the floor below him as clearly neither he nor the investors care about the high turnover rate. The EOM/EOQ stress levels are like nothing you’ve ever witnessed in a sales org. Very limited growth - most ppl only become managers once they quit and come back. Solarwinds has a reputation among other software companies in Austin for being outrageously intense, so once you’ve made it a year, leave.
