Dishonest & abusive management team

Pros

- Free snacks in the office (a pretty good variety of candy, fruit, drinks, etc.). - Reimbursement for a gym membership at LifeTime Fitness for Utah employees (a nice, high-end place).

Cons

- Solera does not pay bonuses as promised. Regardless of what your offer letter may say, they set impossible targets, then eliminate bonuses for all employees when those targets are not met. - A culture of arrogance and abuse is pervasive among senior management at Solera. It is common for employees to be screamed at, cussed at, berated, etc. - Cost-cutting is emphasized above all other priorities; even maintaining the sustainability of the business. Costs have already been cut to the point that the development teams, customer service teams, and finance/accounting teams simply do not have the support they need to do their jobs adequately, and management is aggressively seeking to cut costs further. - Every day is consumed by fire-fighting. Cost cutting has decimated the business to the point that nothing works as it should and employees are constantly scrambling to clean up all the messes management has made by cutting costs they shouldn't have. - Senior management is conceited to the point that they refuse to believe they have made poor decisions even as the business is collapsing around them. Any recommendations made by employees will be completely disregarded if they don't fit the delusional vision for the company promoted by management. - Management has a tendency to concoct impossible pipe-dreams, then pass them down to employees to execute. Count on bonuses and merit increases to be eliminated if you are not successful. - A direct quote from the Solera CEO Tony Aquila in the letter informing me that my 2016 bonus (and those of all AutoPoint employees) would be zero: "For those that carried less than your share, be thankful for those who did it for you." Imagine yourself working for this man. It's miserable.

Pros

-Better than market pay (they need it in order to get higher quality people because the wise know better) -Free My-Fit-Food/Snap Kitchen and "Swag"

Cons

- Utter Chaos - Leadership is disjointed and unclear with their expectations - Management keeps wanting to run pointless Fire Drills that are not worth the time for the amount of information produced - Management wants to micro manage but with attrition is unable to handle their micro management capabilities - Everything is always "Extreme Insanity or Die" (CEO's words not mine) - Management is overly militaristic (note the previous comment) - They use Cognos and I am not sure if it is the product or the system managers, but it is slowest tool I've used since AOL DialUp in the 90s - Instead of paying any Employees bonuses or merit increases, the CEO gave himself a 8 figure bonus - DO NOT COUNT ON THE BONUS - IF THIS STILL HASN'T DETERRED YOU, GET IT INCLUDED IN WRITING ON YOUR OFFER LETTER.THAT GUARANTEES A CERTAIN PAYOUT AT A CERTAIN DATE. - Just laid off about 10-15% of the North American labor force - Don't trust the 5 star reviews. They are fakes from HR and other people that were incentivized to do so - For a company that claims to encourage ingenuity, it does everything to stifle that out. - Attrition is horrible. I came to work for a certain manager that hired me because of his vision of "my role", but he left (very wise decision for him) and I was left working for someone else that basically either barked orders or ignores me completely

"You wouldn't understand, you're not uncommon"

Pros

Pay is typically better than another company. They need to pay you more because most within the industry know the reputation of the CEO and Managing Directors. The only way they typically get talent is by paying more. Unfortunately quality people who go to work for them leave within the first year due to the culture of the company. In my short time there, I counted 13 top level Executives that resigned over a 12 month period. On top of that they've lost two VP of Human Resources over the past 60 days. We don't need to read between the lines as to why HR Executives leave this company.

Cons

Hours are brutal. CEO thinks Solera is a branch of the Army so "boot camp" exists daily and doesn't ever stop. Internal disruption is daily, you'll spend the majority of your time not only arguing internally with co-workers, then you'll deal with it with your accounts due to not being able to fulfill their needs. Communication is non-existent. Benefits change constantly, vacation changes constantly with zero communication from Human Resource. High turnover rate, especially at Senior levels, creates chaos as it disrupts projects that impact the customer. CEO loves the TV show Survivor, he gets a kick out of watching the "strong" survive. Problem is that the strong leave quickly because they have opportunities and the "weak" hang on because they aren't talented enough to make the same money elsewhere.
