Unhealthy work environment/culture

Pros

-Free snacks and drinks in break rooms -Free (comped) Lifetime Fitness membership

Cons

-Poor communication between teams -Management out of touch, doesn't listen to concerns of employees who work most closely with customers. Many people who were strong advocates for the customer left or were fired because they wouldn't toe the company line. New software roll-outs failing because management is trying to force customers to adopt new version before it is ready/stable (despite countless warnings from subordinates). -Nepotism. Unqualified/inexperienced employees put in charge of important projects, then others are blamed when those projects fail. -High turnover. Everyone who cared about the customer and the product jumped ship a long time ago, those who remain are more concerned with appearing to be productive while avoiding new responsibilities. New responsibilities are just another opportunity for someone else to point a finger at you. -Raises are basically non-existent. The only way to get a raise is to be promoted, and the only way to be promoted is to hope that someone with a position you want gets fed up and quits (or gets fired) before you.

Pros

Nice environment, free food. They give you all technical equipment you need. Peers are in general receptive, you feel included and listened. Team building is pretty good.

Cons

Chaos, no respect for people. Pay is decent, but they overwork you and squeeze the last drop of energy. Absolutely no work life balance.
