Worst Salary and Worst Support

Pros

Got a laptop and a test for work. The 401k is good.

Cons

Very poor support and it would take weeks for them to respond to phone call or email. They did not want to even talk about salary re-negotiation until after a year. They were unfamiliar with the area and had no advice regarding accommodations. An HR staff member was rude and didn't take responsibility for her errors which meant that I lost two days of pay. It was all about signing people up and no follow-up. I didn't feel like I was dealt with honestly and was taken advantage of -- that isn't how you keep people. Benefits don't start immediately, you have to wait three months!

Pros

quick and easy onboarding process

Cons

1. There were significant issues with getting paid that caused me a lot of stress. At the start of my contract I had to spend several hours of unpaid time phoning my bank and emailing Soliant back and forth before I started getting paid regularly. Recently, Soliant threatened to withhold my pay for work I did the first two weeks of May due to a problem with processing my timesheets that was NOT MY FAULT AT ALL. 2. The hourly wage I'm being paid as an SLP with over 15 years experience is ridiculously low compared to what I've made at other, better contracting companies. Thankfully, this is a short-term contract.

Approach with caution

Pros

Great entry-level position for someone straight out of college. You’ll learn a little about the corporate world, which can take you to another slightly higher, though still entry-level, position at a more reputable company.

Cons

How much time do you have? I felt like this place literally crushed my soul. As an account executive, you have to do whatever to get teachers placed for little to no money. The schools do not have a lot of money to provide and they’re often in terribly remote places. This sometimes means you have to sell the role to the teachers, even though you know it’s not a good fit. Whatever it takes to match them, you better do it or else you’re looking at performance improvement plan with your manager. It really is quantity > quality.
