Pros

Large product line with a lot of potential. Still some very good people there.

Cons

Management is clueless they've made massive changes in sales staff with no discernable reason. Many of the good people that were spared have left including people who have been there for 10+ years. No clearly defined quotas or and no way to predict or confim OTE.

Company looking to reestablish its identity

Pros

A really great group of people who work for SonicWall. The technical skill and intelligence of so many are impressive. Just about everyone is willing to help and deal with some of the difficulties that come from a significant level of change. The change is needed as the company looks to reestablish itself after the Dell divestiture. There has been a massive amount of new development to make the products competitive in the marketplace. SonicWall also has some unique technologies and patents that can help it compete with anyone in the cybersecurity space. SonicWall has a large and loyal customer base, and it now has a new story to engage that customer base with, which is being well received. Compensation is at a fair market rates for field sales executives.

Cons

There is a lot of ambiguity surrounding the company’s direction with significant leadership turnover over the past two years. There is a lot of inspection of KPIs and activity metrics, with some that feel like checkbox exercises. With the pace of change, it felt like the company culture was taking a significant hit, but now it looks like management is aware and active on that front, so we will see how that plays out. There is a difficulty fighting SonicWall's perception as an SMB player. On many competitive bids, this perception puts you behind the starting blocks. Things even out quickly once you are able to validate the technology, but it can be a challenge to progress to that step in the sales process with enterprise customers.

Pros

If you like linux system programming, network security and want a steep technical learning curve this company is the right place. At first, I was hesitant to join after I got an offer. I know that I made the right decision now with accepting it. When I look into the code that I work every day on, I always find things to learn (hey i have been in the industry for +10 years as software engineer, believe me they’re Goooooood). I assure you, whatever algorithm you learnt at uni you will find it in the code - with best practices. Benefits are quite compatitive: 15-20 vacation and 10 personal time offs 1 floating holiday good health insurance plans with alternatives company matching 401k life insurance and many more.. no bureaucracy (fast interactions and results) helpful and kind experienced coworkers Best part: managers are %100 technical. They know what takes time and what is trivial.

Cons

There is a huge code base to cover. Some development tools are old fashion. But company is changing them gradually.
