Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here; however, we're sorry to hear it was less than ideal. Our policy around advancement at Sound is strictly merit-based, so we're concerned to hear about potential favoritism and nepotism. It is absolutely our goal and intent to ensure that colleagues here are treated equitably. Would you consider connecting with us to share more about your experience? If so, please reach out to belong@soundphysicians.com.

Pros

Great culture, transparent and motivated leadership, competitive pay and recently improved benefits package.

Cons

Strategy pivots too often, certain leaders overstep their roles and try to influence outside their expertise and reach.

Pros

None, maybe the schedule sometimes and Hospitalist experience

Cons

Upper management is lazy, you will be doing the work of yourself and several others, very poor support system, not allowed ANY pto or sick time, not allowed any flexibility in schedule. The 7 on 7 off seems nice but you need 48 hrs to recover as unlike day provider who can work 6/8/10 hr shift you will always work 12 hrs. Constantly short staffed, no one ever addresses real problems- medical leaders too involved with personal affairs/gossip/ inappropriate relationships to care about patients or actual work. When there’s staffing issues upper management hopes someone will play “hero” and work overtime vs actually hiring more people. You will do 10-15 admissions at night minimum and answer 200-500 calls/messages at minimum- management refuses to see there’s need for more providers at night, they leave APP alone for managing the whole hospital. Turnover is insanely high, no one finishes their night contract. Even locum physicians quit. This isn’t just this area either, bad reviews show the night position is bad for many regions. Also RVU is always paid out less than earned- I have had to have adjusted at least 5x in 2 years. They randomly hold your pay and lie about reimbursement for CE as they don’t have funding and will likely be bought out soon.

Hello and thank you for giving voice to your frustrations. The situation as you describe it is greatly concerning to me, and I encourage you to reach out to me directly about what you're experiencing. While we're a national medical group that aims to apply a set of standards and values across all our practices, I acknowledge that some practices may vary based on local leadership and site dynamics. It's important to me to better understand the challenges so I can begin working to solve them. And I hear you on turnover and burnout. Please know that it's my job to help – and I'd like to support you. Reach out directly via my Outlook email or Teams, or here: belong@soundphysicians.com. — April Burke, Vice President, Advanced Practice Providers
