Pros

This is the first job that invests in me as a physician AND as a person! Sound Physicians gives me the tools to do my job effectively and encourages me to be my best. They care about my hospital and strive for us to achieve the results that our hospital is working for! Regional Leadership really cares about me and the job we do. Sound is a great organization to work for.

Cons

Far more pros than cons.

Pros

Benefits , steady pay check and you get to see lots of patients everyday if your someone who gets bored easy.

Cons

Sound Started off with a visionary leader and great ideas / values. But what I have seen does not reflect their theoretical core values or mission. They are simply another staffing agency now as I hesitate to say hospitalist management company. I have see very little management from them. And as time went on , they couldn't even staff the program effectively. The funny thing is , as the program fell apart the Sound " leaders " became less involved and less present . At first they will act very interested in the program. I soon learned Sound is just another third party company trying to make money off the hard work of physicians. But what's most disappointing is how they sell themselves to the Hospital trying to paint a pretty picture no matter how bad the program is running. Unfortunately hospitals trust them. For now. I've watched great doctors and NPs be coerced into joining a sound program that would eventually place them into a dangerous work environment . By dangerous I mean seeing too many patients daily. Creating serious mental stress andanguish. . Often being understaffed and expected to deal with it. And being given a leader / director who is purely there to serve himself and look good to admin. Contract negotiations took a very long time. The physicians were always the last to know of any changes. Office staff seemed to be treated better in this program than the providers. I can go on and on ..... Basically this is a dangerous , unstable program . But don't take my word for it , just look at their turn over rate ...... or ask the current Hospitalist's about it.

Pros

I felt that Sound was a great place to work. Management invests in their teams, lots of really great people to work with, large enough to have various avenues for growth, and investment in their employees.

Cons

Fast growth, which is mostly positive, but has changed the culture.
