Big let down

Pros

Great pay, insurance was ok. Awesome vacation time and paid days off.

Cons

Was told by supervisor I wouldn't have to worry about a job when our office lost a contract. When time came I not only lost my job, no one at the company returned a phone call or email. In fact they tried to fight a severance package I was promised. No reply to any employment checks. After 8 years, and two company name changes, Sound came in and we hit rock bottom. They believe in many heads who follow no direction. You don't matter unless you are an MD. HR told me good luck, you are better off. They had heard new management threaten workers with the adage "dime a dozen" so they weren't helping anyone who was unhappy.

When two organizations come together by acquisition it can put stress on teams. We value your honest feedback.

Pros

Generous vacation time, good pay.

Cons

No work life balance, they think you should be working 15 +hour days because they pay you well. They "own" you. Regional leadership is a JOKE! They have no clue what's going on and intentionally make things confusing to make it look like they know what's going on! They do NOT have their employees best interest in mind and will watch employees flounder like a fish out of water. I couldn't tell you what this regional leadership did daily except try to make themselves look busy by flying from city to city and getting staff and clients upset. It's truly abysmal!

Schizo "culture"

Pros

Significant market share, well-known, positive reputation (although slipping), well funded (thanks to FMC)

Cons

present a "certain" culture (although not original - copied by COO directly from Davita) characterized by promoting collaboration, positioning you as SME (particularly if you have oversight of a department), "give" (very few "earn" anything) you a "voice" & "seat @ the table", emphasize metrics in performance management but choose when to use or not to use depending upon who knows what .....reality is jess_rob make all decisions, often times w/o informing of significant changes (the budget process & due diligence on acquisitions-especially Cogent- could be SNL skits), repeatedly set unrealistic expectations (seemingly memories are erased of new sites losing $250K monthly) ......arrival of COO & his vision of "culture" in 2011 has resulted in incredibly political environment Key people that have built the company have left & to advance/survive, is well known must be either FOR or FOJ
